How big is Wondai?
Wondai Township has around 2,000 residents with hundreds of new homes having been constructed in the last 10 years. Houses are very affordable with an average price of just over $200,000 while rental properties are available for an average rent of just $200 per week.
What is Wondai like?
Wondai is 321 metres above sea level, located in cattle and grain-growing country with most of the area around the township composed of grasslands interspersed with eucalypt forests.

It has a typical South Burnett low-humidity climate of warm summers and cool winters and a very relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Extensive refurbishment of the CBD area during the 1990s has also made it one of the cleanest and most immediately pretty towns in the region, with well-tended parklands and picnic areas. It is a strong and progressive country centre with the services and amenities enjoyed by larger towns but without many of the associated problems.

Wondai is a charming town with lush green parklands separating the CBD from the main highway. The town features great daycare, kindergarten and schooling facilities along with 2 medical centres while the hospital/nursing home has recently undergone a multi-million dollar redevelopment.

You will find all the usual retail outlets which include supermarket, restaurants, cafes, post office, and petrol outlets, hotels, motels, Caravan Park and bed and breakfasts, and an RSL Club - all located within easy walking distance of the heart of town.

Sporting facilities are well catered for with a public swimming pool, golf club, bowling club, rifle club, tennis club, squash court, gymnasium, racecourse and a showground, just to name a few.

There are also service organizations such as the Lions Club, Garden Club, Fishing Club, District Band, Senior Citizens, CWA and the SES.

The area also features a number of award winning tourism attractions including the Timber Museum, Art Gallery, Lake Boondooma with great fishing and accommodation facilities, as well as the South Burnett Wine and Food Trail.
